Dear all
Just as we did with the transition from CellML 1.0 to 1.1 through the
introduction import capabilities, we are keen to further improve the
structure and expressiveness of CellML. To this end we would like to
start a process of considering proposals for the specification of
future versions of CellML. A number of suggestions for improving the
CellML specification have already been informally discussed by
members of the CellML community (e.g. the addition of variable typing
capabilities, modification of the import element to avoid
ambiguities, extending or removing the 'CellML subset' of content
MathML). We are currently trying to establish tools to facilitate the
community-wide process of proposing, evaluating, and deciding how the
CellML language can evolve. Our first step is to establish a workflow
to handle the evolution of the specification. Once this is achieved,
we can receive proposals and start the process of critiquing and
deciding what to include in future specifications. I would like to
invite everyone within the CellML community to contribute to this
process by participating in the CellML discussion list debates.
Best wishes
Poul
