Dear all,

The first release candidate for mozCellML 0.3, mozCellML-0.3rc1, has been
released. There are plans to release this at
http://www.cellml.org/tools/mozCellML/releases in the near future, but as
technical difficulties have arisen, the files will not be available on this
site until after the new year.

As an interim solution, the files have been released at
https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=75900&package_id=133093
You will need to manually select the correct XPI file for your platform.

Note that this is a release candidate and not a final release. If bugs or
other
significant issues are encountered, further changes may be made before the
final release.

If you discover a bug in mozCellML 0.3rc1, please report it at
http://www.cellml.org/tools/mozCellML/tracker

Release Notes for mozCellML 0.3rc1:

The last public release before 0.3rc1 was 0.1. mozCellML 0.2rc1 was released
internally to the Bioengineering institute(due to delays in preparing the
cmgui product for release). However, as the time for the 0.2 final release
approached, feedback from within the institute indicated that major changes
were required, such as a new user interface. This work has now been carried
out, and the result is the 0.3 series.

Source
------
The mozCellML gzipped tar file actually contains a number of different
packages, each of which are required to produce a working mozCellML binary.
The
cmgui subdirectory contains the source code for cmgui, the 3D visualisation
environment used to draw the graphs. cmgui_corba_bridge contains a CORBA based
cmgui server. xpcorba contains a derivative of XPCORBA, allowing the Firefox
to use CORBA, and so allows mozCellML to communicate with cmgui.
The mozGeneralPlugin subdirectory contains a simple plugin which allows
mozCellML to get a handle for an area of the screen.

As building from source is quite an involved process due to all the components
required, it is recommended that you only do this if you need to modify the
C++ code.

Binaries
--------
The binaries provided support Firefox 1.5. Binaries supporting the older 1.7.*
series of the Mozilla Suite are no longer provided, as it is too old.

Two platforms are currently supported:
1) Win32(Win98 and later) on i386, running Firefox 1.5.
2) Linux on x86, running Firefox 1.5.

It is essential that you install the correct binary for your system, or
mozCellML will not work.

User interface
--------------
mozCellML has an entirely new user interface. It is highly recommended that
you read the user manual again, as it has been almost entirely rewritten due
to UI changes.

The fitter
----------
There is currently no user interface to the fitter. This is a temporary
situation, pending feedback on how to best provide a user-interface to the
fitter. If you require the fitter, please do not upgrade to 0.3rc1 yet, and
stay with 0.1.

Best regards,
Andrew Miller
