We are pleased to announce the first Workshop on Cell Based and
Individual Based Modelling (CBIBM) which will be held as part of the
2014 International Conference on Computational Science in Cairns,
Australia, on the 10th -12th June 2014.
Individual and cell based models are increasingly being used to study
the behaviour of natural systems, from modelling individual cells to
study tissue development through to representations of whole organisms
to study population dynamics. The aim of this workshop is to bring
together scientists who are developing and using individual based
modelling tools and software. The workshop will cover all aspects of
model and tool development but will focus on the following.
- Computational or mathematical methods for the simulation (or analysis)
of multicellular or multiagent systems.
- The development of simulation tools for multicellular or multiagent
systems.
- The development of novel cell based or individual based models.
- Standards for specification of multicellular systems.
- Connecting individual based and continuum based modelling approaches.
- Novel applications of cell based and individual based modelling.
- Connecting individual based models to experimental data.
This call is for 10 page original research papers to be part of the
workshop. The deadline for submission is the 6th of January 2014.
