Hi all,

This is a call for nominations for two CellML Editors to replace Alan
Garny and Jonathan Cooper, whose term ends with the approaching 8th
International CellML Workshop.

Nominations should be made via the form available at:
http://goo.gl/NvJRDq. The nomination deadline is 8 April 2014.

The document describing the election process is available at:
http://www.cellml.org/community/election-of-editors.

The CellML Editors play a key role in writing and developing the
CellML specification. CellML Editors have to be willing to invest time
and effort into evaluating proposals for changes, researching the
possible impact of those changes, thinking about how to implement the
changes, writing new text in the CellML specification, dealing with
practical matters of writing, editing, coordinating, tracking changes
to documents, etc. The work level tends to be highly uneven and
unpredictable, but on average it is not overwhelming.

The length of a CellML Editor's term is 3 years. The current CellML
Editors are David Nickerson, Poul Nielsen, Jonathan Cooper, Alan
Garny, and Mike Cooling
(http://www.cellml.org/community/editorial_board), with Jonathan and
Alan being replaced in 2014. This is the nomination phase of the
CellML Editor search. You may nominate anyone (including yourself)
that you believe is qualified and would act as a good CellML Editor.
Current members of the CellML Editorial Board cannot be nominated for
election. You may describe your rationale for making the nomination in
the nomination form. You may fill out this form more than once, for
nominating multiple individuals.

The CellML Editors will gather the results and create a single list of
all unique candidates along with the rationales for their nominations,
then verify with each individual that they accept the nomination, and
finally issue a call for voting. The voting will take place
electronically using an online ballot form.

Cheers,
David, on behalf of the CellML Editorial Board.
