Hi all,

This is a call for votes in the election for two CellML Editors to
replace Alan Garny and Jonathan Cooper, whose term ended with the 8th
International CellML Workshop.

As mentioned at the workshop, there were five unique nominations
received in the recent nomination phase of the election process and
four of the nominees accepted their nomination.

The four nominees standing for election and the supporting statements
provided during the nomination phase are given below and on the voting
ballot. All members of the CellML community (defined as all
subscribers of the cellml-discussion mailing list) are eligible to
vote in the election.

The voting ballot is available at: http://goo.gl/2dGs4M; and voting
closes on the 13th of May 2014. Please see the election process
document, http://www.cellml.org/community/election-of-editors, for a
description of the election process used for the CellML editorial
board.

Cheers,
David, on behalf of the CellML Editorial Board.

The four nominees standing for election are:

Edmund Crampin (University of Melbourne):

Edmund has contributed a strong user-focus to the CellML editorial
board in the past. This, along with an extensive background in
computational systems biology and physiology make Edmund a great
candidate for election to the CellML Editorial Board.

Sarala Wimalaratne (EMBL-EBI):

With experience in semantic web technologies, identifiers.org, and
Ricordo, Sarala would make a great addition to the CellML editorial
board and provide some much needed model annotation expertise.

Gary Mirams (Oxford University):

He's a modeller who uses CellML. Some of the modelling that he does
might help expand CellML in new directions.

Randall Britten (Auckland Bioengineering Institute):

Interested in CellML, and technologies related to mathematical
modelling in general. Has made significant contributions to CellML in
the past.
