I followed Justin's instructions and everything is now working fine under
Ubuntu 8.10. So, thanks a lot indeed Justin! As a result, I have also closed
tracker item #1470 as WONTFIX, since it's indeed a bit of a special issue
that I faced. Note that I have also updated the build documentation for
Ubuntu 8.10, in case others were to use that same version of Ubuntu.
