Hello,

We would like to make you aware of a SUNDIALS-related project launched
at Lund University in collaboration with the Swedish company Modelon AB.
We have embedded the Sundials solvers IDA and CVode into Python via
Cython and structured a complete simulation package, called Assimulo
around the solvers. Assimulo comes also with a few other solvers and is
designed for easy addition of additional solvers.

Assimulo is used for educational purposes at Lund University. In a
simulation course we wanted to give students access to industrial-level
numerical software like Sundials without demanding deeper knowledge in
C.

Assimulo also serves as the simulation engine in the modeling,
simulation and optimization platform JModelica.org
(http://www.jmodelica.org).

The project can be found at http://www.jmodelica.org/assimulo where the
package is available as open source software, free to download and use.
There is also a tutorial that serves as a good starting point.

Assimulo still supports only a subset of SUNDIALS and is work in
progress - we therefore invite you to use and to provide feedback on the
Assimulo package.
