Hi Andre,

The announcement states "* Better Python and Java binding support" and
it would be great to have a simple example showing how to use the API
with Python. I've been through the exercise of getting the Python
bindings built with an earlier release of the API (and that wasn't quite
as easy as "./configure --enable-python" followed by "make") but then
got stuck in working out how to actually use them (plus had other things
to do). The OS/X binary release of 1.9 does include a lot of libraries
with python in their name, so here's hoping....
