Hi
We need a better way of authenticating the names associated with each
revision in PMR2 workspaces. The complication is due to PMR2 workspaces
being based on a distributed version control system, i.e. the change history
is not under centralised control.
One proposal (by Tommy) is that pushes to the workspaces enforce digital
signing of the tip revision at the time of the push (see
https://tracker.physiomeproject.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2588#c2).
One consideration is that this adds another aspect to the setup required by
users who want to push to PMR2 workspaces. However, currently a small
number of users ever push to the workspaces hosted on PMR2. Also, the setup
is fairly straight forward in my opinion.
Before we go ahead on implementing this, I would like feedback from anyone
interested, preferably by posting comments on tracker item 2588
(
https://tracker.physiomeproject.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2588). The tracker
item has further details.
Regards,
Randall Britten
