Dear All,

I am going to be making a poster for the ICSB 2007 conference. This has
been a recent decision and as such I do not have much time until the
abstract is due - September 1st.

I will have a draft abstract by the end of the day which I will send to
the list.

The scope of this poster will be the current status of CellML and its
surrounding community, website and tools. Ideas for the future of CellML
and associated projects will also be represented.

Images will likely include:

a screenshot of Tommy's metadata editor

a screenshot of COR in editing mode

a screenshot of PCEnv running a session for a biochemical pathway model

a screenshot of a model page and associated model documentation

The same model will be used throughout and will probably be one of the
Leloup 2003 or 2004 models that Catherine has recently worked on. A
biochemical pathway model has been chosen due to the subject nature of
the conference.

The idea to make this poster was originally mine, but Edmund Crampin has
taken an interest and the poster has been discussed with both him and
Peter Hunter, and as of today, those members of the CellML team present
at the Auckland meeting. The poster was originally to be centered around
curation of the models in the repository, but following today's Auckland
CellML meeting, I have decided to widen the scope.

I will not be attending the conference, but Edmund and Mike Cooling have
kindly agreed to attend the poster. Sarala is also thinking of
submitting a poster, so having three posters about CellML will be great.

The Auckland team has been very forthcoming with comments and help, and
of course, input from the CellML community would be appreciated.

The essence here is that we (CellML) need representation at this
conference, and, for that matter, systems biology conferences in the
future, so this poster is designed to widen awareness of the CellML
project. With respect to this particular conference, an emphasis will be
placed on how CellML can be used for modelling of biochemical pathways.
Mike's poster will hopefully be next to mine and will provide a direct
example of this capability.

Kind regards,
James Lawson
